I'm Here!

Hello Henry,

How are you? I am sending you an email from Costa Mesa, a big town in the center of Orange County, California! Our friend Erik is letting me use his computer. He's even typing for me!

Traveling inside an envelope is really scary! I kept bouncing around in trucks and airplanes, but I was asleep most of the time because it was so dark in there.

I arrived at our friend Erik's apartment this morning. It was so hot today. Almost 100 degrees! Erik didn't find me in the mailbox until 9 o'clock at night, and I sure was happy to see him! But when he opened the envelope, the wind picked up and I blew away!

Luckily I landed on a bridge above the freeway. It is 16 lanes across! Erik found me and took a picture.

Then we waited for the bus, but it never arrived, so Erik drove me in his Miata to his apartment. Miata's don't have a back seat, and I complained the whole way that I'm too short to sit in front, but he buckled me in really tight and luckily we made it to his apartment safe and sound.

I'll write again soon! Hope you're having fun in first grade!

Your friend,

Flat Stanley
